About The Role  

  • Geotechnical permanent and temporary works designs, including shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stability analyses, earthworks and geotechnical enabling works.
  • Design and specification of small diameter tunnels and pipeline, including shaft design and construction methodologies.
  • Assist in the development of temporary support-of-excavation designs for basements, shafts, and underground spaces.
  • Assist with desk studies and the planning, preparation and interpretation of ground investigations.  
  • Perform preliminary ground movement predictions, hydrogeological impact assessments, and evaluations of potential building damage.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, civil, and bridge engineers, on subsurface design elements.
  • Integrate sustainability and circular economy principles into all aspects of work.  
  • Monitor construction activities and geotechnical investigations on-site.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ICE accredited MEng/MSc in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Preferably with minimum 2-3 years post graduate geotechnical or tunnelling experience.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, soil and rock mechanics, and tunnelling methods.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain focus on lengthy projects.
  • Proficient in communicating ideas clearly, effectively translating design tasks and solutions into concise text and presentation slides.
  • Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, strong teamwork skills, and creativity.
